About Building Envelope Inspections
Building Envelope Inspections was born in 2024 with a goal in mind: be there to get building facades and parapets in compliance with both NYC Local Law 11 and Local Law 126. Our steadfast growth has given us the ability to undertake other areas of expertise in relationship to facade projects such as feasibility studies, leak investigations, project management, and construction administration. At BEI, we are here not only to ensure compliance, but to guide you down the road to getting your building in compliance with the challenging New York City codes and regulations.
Meet OUR TEAM
David Shacalo - President
David Shacalo is the President and co-founder of Building Envelope Inspections. Born and raised in Brooklyn, NY, David had found his passion to make buildings better and safer from a young age. After graduating from NYIT with a Bachelors of Architecture, David has accumulated vast experience in new building construction and restoration, Taking a particular passion towards Local Law 11 compliance. When not in the office directing our team, or out in the field doing inspections himself, David values spending quality time with his family.
James Napoli P.E. - Chief Engineering Officer
James Napoli is Building Envelope Inspections' Chief Engineering Officer. James has always had a knack for engineering. After graduating from Northeastern University with a Bachelors of Science in Civil Engineering and Structural Engineering, James has accumulated over 15 years of experience across multiple disciplines of work throughout NYC. James has the privilege of having both QEWI and QPSI certifications from the NYC Department of Buildings. When out of the office, James enjoys spending quality time from his family and travelling the world.
